JULIA GOLD is an AV rated tax and estate planning attorney licensed to practice in Nevada and California. Julia practices primarily in areas of estate planning, family business planning, trust administrations, and probate.
Julia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Davis and a law degree from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College. Julia obtained an LL.M. (Master of Laws – Taxation) with honors from Golden Gate University, School of Law in 1998. Julia is a certified specialist in estate planning, probate and trust law, California Board of Legal Specialization, California State Bar, and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC), a nonprofit organization comprised of the nation's premier trust and estate counselors. Julia is also a member of the California and Nevada State Bars.
Julia served as the co-chair for the Nevada State Bar Probate and Trust Section's Legislative Committee for over 10 years, and she is a past committee member of the California Trust and Estate Executive Committee for the State Bar of California. Julia is the past president for the Northern Nevada Estate Planning Council and past chair of Nevada State Bar Probate and Trust Section.
Julia is generally not taking new clients at this time and is focused on serving her existing clientele.
Julia's hobbies include mountain biking, skiing, hiking, river kayaking, travel, and literature.

MELISSA JOHNSON is licensed to practice law in Nevada and has enjoyed dedicating her legal career to estate planning, family business planning, and trust and probate administration matters.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cornell University. During her undergraduate studies, Melissa studied abroad for a year at La Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso in Chile. Melissa went on to earn both her Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) with honors from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. She later completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation at New York University in 2005.
Melissa has been a member of the State Bar of Nevada since 2004. She began her legal career as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable James W. Hardesty of the Nevada Supreme Court. She then entered private practice with a local law firm, where she focused on trust and estate matters for over 15 years before joining Julia Gold, a longtime friend and career mentor.
Melissa brings her clients valuable experience learned not only from private practice, but also from her long-time service on the board of a local family trust company and from her employment in the General Counsel's Office at the University of Nevada, Reno, representing the institution on a wide range of legal matters.
A proud Nevadan since 1978 and graduate of McQueen High School, Melissa is delighted to call Reno home, where she and her husband of nearly 20 years are raising their four children. Deeply rooted in the community, Melissa can often be found cheering from the sidelines of youth sports, helping with kids' school activities, exploring the outdoors hiking and skiing, planning a family adventure, or simply enjoying a rare, quiet moment with a good book and a strong cup of coffee.
